Educational Software for Kids
60Theres software thats made for kids, and there's software thats not! You should consider this when you are looking into software for them. Ease of use can cause a lot of problems, frustration, and anger! They might start screaming and stamping their feet and throw your computer out the window onto the streets below, causing it to hit someone on the head. You can expect a lawsuit, and suddenly your life savings are gone, your computer is broken, the future looks grim. But wait! Snap back to reality! You're here reading this article on the internet, nothing has even happened! Your computer is fine, your kid is happy goofing around somewhere, and you need to find some educational software for him. Well I'm here to help!
Educational software isn't all about giving facts and knowledge, its also about experience! Developing the types of skills that are becoming necessary to compete in the world. Starting at an early age can have a great impact on your child's life. Doing it with style is even better! Have a stylish kid who is really good at doing that deep "Tchyeaa...... Bueuuhghh" thing that some reggae stars do a lot. Education software might not help with that, but it can give your child the tools he needs to learn how on his own.Beuuugh!!
I recommend typing software and close guidance. Learning how to type is important because learning the wrong way can really stunt long term computer skills, and it takes a lot of effort to unlearn those bad habits. Learn posture, correct finger positioning, and I hope you don't mind some personal advice but teach them what to do with their face while they type because I never learned this and to this day, whenever I type i do this weird thing where i stretch out my lips sideways and open a narrow gap between my teeth and my tongue pokes in and out and my eyes kind of bulge out and i constantly wiggle my eyebrows. It is a habit I haven't been able to shake since its been a sort of life-long issue. I blame it on poor kinaesthesia!I hope this is the right word that I am trying to use.
Education is important, no doubt! Here are some good programs that I feel expand basic abilities of your child:
Ideas to get you started
- Math Blaster
Good for developing basic math skills, fun and different difficulty levels - KooBits [educational software for kids]
Good for fostering creativity and spatial awareness, along with basic computer skills. Easy and fun to use!
